My name is Rob Grant. I am a composer, music producer, presenter and DJ, known as The Orphic Creative or Theocre.
My quest is to make 'music to think to' - beautiful and intelligent musical works which are more than just background ambiance, actively engaging the listener through a complex interplay of melody, rhythm and musical forms.
My music most often falls into the Ambient Electronica and IDM genres, drawing from a wide range of inspirational sources ranging from classical, jazz, downtempo and trip-hop, to electronica, synthwave, dance and techno. My aim is to create expansive, cross-genre musical sculptures with a three-dimensional aspect, which aim to capture the interest of the listener, even when not including vocal elements.
